In addition, qualifications include the following:

• Candidates must possess a degree in electrical engineering and be registered as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba, or be eligible for registration.
• Knowledge of technical requirements for ESA, and at least one of Manitoba and/or National and/or Ontario Building Code.
• Experience in design and engineering for industrial buildings.
• Particular knowledge in the design of low voltage (up to 25 kV) and medium voltage (up to 125 kV) power distribution and analysis is desirable. Further specific expertise with drive systems, MCC’s, PLC, DCS and SCADA systems would be an asset.
• Knowledge of arc flash hazard analysis and modeling using ETAP would be an asset.
• Demonstrated work within design teams to accomplish on time and on budget project delivery.
• Desire and ability to lead technical design teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to maintain successful client relations.
• Ability to write clear Division 16 specifications for electrical contracts.
• Solid knowledge of computers, and be comfortable with AutoCAD, word processors, spreadsheets, modeling software and other design tools.
• The ideal candidate not only will produce excellent designs but also is interested in taking the electrical buildings design to the next level.
