PURPOSE OF POSITION:

• Reporting to the CFO this position will support the Operations Manager and be responsible for the cost accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Manufacturing background.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
• Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
• Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
• Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software).
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience highly desirable.
• Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting or equivalent education or experience is required.
• Enrollment or designated in a professional accounting program (CMA or CGA) is desired.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, overheads and labor.
• Analyzing data collected and recording results.
• Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
• Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
• Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports.
• Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
• Maintaining Cost Accounting System.
• Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
• Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program.
• Reconciles work in process and finished goods inventories.
