PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- Reporting to the CFO this position will support the Operations Manager and be responsible for the cost accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Manufacturing background.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
- Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software).
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience highly desirable.
- Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting or equivalent education or experience is required.
- Enrollment or designated in a professional accounting program (CMA or CGA) is desired.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, overheads and labor.
- Analyzing data collected and recording results.
- Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
- Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports.
- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Maintaining Cost Accounting System.
- Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
- Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program.
- Reconciles work in process and finished goods inventories.
